Dr Andrew Viljoen

Dr Andrew Viljoen is a compassionate and meticulous specialist general surgeon based in Cape Town. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) from the University of Natal in 2001. In 2006, he obtained his medical degree (MBChB) from the University of KwaZulu Natal, Nelson Mandela School of Medicine. In 2007, he worked as a medical intern at Addington/Mahatma Gandhi Complex. Following this, Dr Viljoen completed his community service at Piet Retief Hospital in 2009. While he was engaged in his community service, he completed and obtained a Certificate in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

In 2010, Dr Viljoen worked at Pietermaritzburg Metropolitan Complex as a registrar in surgery, where he qualified as General Surgeon. He obtained a Certificate in Advanced Trauma Life Support in 2011 while working as a Medical Officer.

In 2015, Dr Viljoen worked as a Medical Officer in Specialised and Oncological Surgery at Inkosi Albert Lithuli Central Hospital (Quaternary Hospital). In 2017, he became a general surgeon in private practice.
